# Choose your tiles and white-label paper

> Choose which venues and providers your hosted Connect offers and in what order, and offer white-label paper so every trader can start trading with nothing to connect.

Decide what your traders see when Connect opens. Your Connect offers tiles, and each tile is a
venue's or a provider's entry: a provider listed on trdrs that a trader signs in to inside Connect,
or a venue that runs on one. A venue is a prop firm or brokerage whose accounts run on a provider,
and its tile names that provider. You switch each tile on or off and set their order. You can also
offer white-label paper, the trdrs paper book under your app's name and logo, where a trader opens a
Demo with nothing to type.

Use this page when you set up your Connect, and when you run your traders' Demos. By the end your
Connect shows the tiles you chose, in your order, with your white-label paper first, and you can
reset or retire a trader's Demo. You do all of it in the Connect dashboard, where an owner or an
editor of your app makes each change and any member of your team can read it.

## What your traders see

Hosted Connect lists your white-label paper first while you offer it, then the tiles you switched
on, in your order. Hosted Connect offers only the providers a trader can sign in to inside it, so the
tiles you can choose from are those providers' tiles and the tiles of the venues that run on them.
Your white-label paper is the one paper book tile your Connect offers.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose your tiles and their order">
    In the Connect dashboard, open **Connect**. It lists every tile your Connect can offer, in your
    order, each switched on or off, and says what each one is: a venue's tile reads "Venue on" the
    provider it runs on, such as "Venue on Rithmic", and a provider's tile names its kind, such as
    an exchange or a broker. Your first visit starts from every tile listed at that moment, switched
    on, in the order trdrs lists them. A tile marked as coming soon belongs to a venue whose system
    doesn't let trdrs sign its traders in yet.

    Switch tiles on and off, and put them in the order your traders should see. A tile listed on
    trdrs after your last choices comes after them, on or off as your rule for new tiles says, so
    decide whether a newly listed venue or provider joins your Connect by itself.

    Switching a tile off stops new connections to it at once, even through a Connect link created
    before, and disconnects nothing a trader already connected. A tile you switch off keeps its place
    in your order. A change made from an older view of your tiles is refused, so a teammate's change
    is never overwritten.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Offer white-label paper">
    On the same screen, switch on your white-label paper and set the balance each trader's Demo opens
    with, in whole US dollars from 1,000 to 10,000,000. It's off, at 100,000, until you first save it.

    A new Demo opens at the new balance, and a Demo already open keeps its own. Switching it off stops
    new Demos at once and closes none. Your white-label paper tile shows your app's name and the logo
    you upload in the dashboard.

    A Demo trades every product class the trdrs paper book offers, from one US dollar balance, on
    trdrs's terms. Its futures prices come only from the trader's own futures login on their venue's
    production system, so a Demo trades futures only once the trader has signed in on a venue's tile
    that runs on Rithmic. The sandbox's Rithmic Test logins carry no prices, so in the sandbox, test
    with crypto.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Run your traders' Demos

Each trader holds one Demo from your white-label paper. Opening your tile again finds the one they
hold, never funded again.

The Connect dashboard lists every Demo your traders opened, newest first: your own id for the
trader, the Demo's account number, currency, balance and the balance it opened with, and when you
retired it, if you did. Your API key reads each Demo and routes its trader's orders on it, as
[Route your traders' orders](/guides/route-your-traders-orders) shows: `GET /api/account/list` with
the trader's id lists it.

### Reset one

Reset a Demo to give its trader a clean start. Its working orders are cancelled and its positions
closed at the paper book's prices, then its balance returns to the balance it opened with, not the
balance your white-label paper opens new Demos with now. Say why, in at most 300 characters: your
reason is recorded with who reset it and when.

### Retire one

Retire a Demo when its trader shouldn't hold one any more. It's closed the same way, then retired.
It keeps its history and stays in your list, marked retired, and its trader no longer sees your
white-label paper tile and can't open another Demo from it.

<Warning>
  A retirement can't be undone: the trader holds no Demo from your white-label paper again. Fills
  before a reset or a retirement still count toward your bill for their month.
</Warning>

## When a reset or a retirement is refused

| What the dashboard says | What it means | What to do |
| - | - | - |
| The Demo is retired | You're resetting a Demo you retired. | Nothing to reset. |
| An order reached the Demo while it was being closed | A trade landed during the close. | Do it again. |
| A charge or a command is waiting to settle | What was closed stays closed. | Do it again once it settles. |
| Its risk or balance has to settle first, or it's held for reconciliation | The Demo can't reset yet. | Do it again later. |
| A position can't be closed now | The paper book closed what it could, and one position has no price. | Do it again when the instrument has a price. |

## Test it end to end

1. Switch one tile off and open Connect. The tile is gone.
2. Switch your white-label paper on, open it as a new test trader, and find their Demo in the Connect
   dashboard.
3. Reset the Demo. Its balance returns to the balance it opened with.
4. Retire the Demo and open Connect for that trader. Your white-label paper tile is gone for them.

## The routes this page calls

The Connect dashboard makes these calls with your team's Connect sign-in:

| Step | Route |
| - | - |
| Read and choose your tiles | `GET` and `PUT /api/connect/apps/{appId}/tiles` |
| Read and offer white-label paper | `GET` and `PUT /api/connect/apps/{appId}/white-label-paper` |
| List your traders' Demos | `GET /api/connect/apps/{appId}/demos` |
| Reset or retire a Demo | `POST /api/connect/apps/{appId}/demos/{accountId}/reset` and `/retire` |

Each tile the tiles routes return carries its `slug`, its `entry`, which is `venue` or `provider`,
and the `provider` it opens, which on a venue's tile is the provider the venue runs on. The routes
name each tile by its slug, such as `funded-futures-network` for a venue or `hyperliquid` for a
provider. A slug is the same in the sandbox and in production, so one set of slugs serves both
environments.
